Bowling Blind?

This Saturday we will be bowling at home unopposed, which is commonly referred to as bowling a blind. The match will count, and your scores will affect your averages. You must bowl within 10 pins of your average in order to win your individual match point, and as a team you must bowl within 50 of your team average to win the game.

GET READY FOR THE SEASON!

Now is the time to get your equipment checked.

- Have the surface of your ball checked, have it cleaned, maybe resurfaced.
- Have your span checked, you kids did some growing this summer! You don't want to "squeeze the Ball".
- Think about adding equipment that will complement what you already own. If you get a new ball, get one that reacts differently than what you already own, you want a diverse arsenal for different lane conditions.
- If you don't already have one, think about a plastic spare ball, it will increase your average.
- If you get a chance to participate in a "demo day", do so .It is a great opportunity to actually experiance the new balls and see how they work for you. It's not expensive, and you will usually get a discount if you buy a ball that day.

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
One of the great things about Bowlympics is that you get into competitive bowling before the school season starts.

Our first practice will be this Thursday, September 15th at 6:30 (meeting at 6:15). Our first match is October 1st.

I am not sure if the new teams are on board for the start of the season, my fingers are crossed.

Please help me get the word out!

The New Season

We have our kickoff coaches meeting this month on the 27th. We will be going over rules and other logistics at this time. I am told we will also be welcoming two new teams; Bay Shore and Shirley will be on board this season. Welcome!

I hope to keep you all informed additionally through this blog, if I can do it correctly. If it works out, you will be able to get copies of the rules, schedules and other information . I also hope to post photos of you guys and maybe some videos. Since I am new to this, we will have to see how it works. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Cheers,
Sonny
